OUR STORY
THE MAN BEHIND THE SAUCE AND THE INSPIRATION FOR OUR FOOD!
Harold Henry Miller
6/25/1922 - 10/8/2004

Harold was a farm kid that went to the catholic school. But, like many young boys those days, after 8 th grade he went to work on farms and never went back to school. He enlisted in the army, and then in the navy. He served in WWII and the Korean war. He was a baker in the navy where he learned how to feed an “army.” After getting out of the service he became a chef. He worked at the Americanna Inn in St. Cloud, MN for a number of years and also owned a small restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

He made THE BEST potato pancakes – no, not the shredded potato kind. The smooth, thin kind, crisp around the edges. He also made THE BEST hashbrowns! Always golden brown and only flipped once. Perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper and fried in butter – oh, soooo good! Those are a couple of the many family favorites he made!
His other “BEST” – his home-made barbeque sauce! Our family never ate BBQ ribs out, because we only liked his sauce! We got to enjoy it at home and share it, on special occasions, with extended family and friends, for weddings and church gatherings. At every event someone would ask for the recipe. Mostly, it was never shared. His family and friends always thought we should sell it. And, we actually looked into it a number of years ago, even before he passed away.
He is one of the many reasons we proudly fly the American Flag – In honor of him and all those that served!! And, it is why we proudly display his initials on the front of our food truck today. Harold Henry F5-BBQ Sauce is proudly created, served & honored
